I was bitten by a dog in the park when I tried to pet it. I know it might be partly my fault since I reached out to the dog myself, but it still bit me, which seems like the owner's responsibility. The bite wasn't severe, but it was painful. I took a photo of the injury and got the owner's phone number, but I didn’t report it to the police. Do I have the right to seek compensation under these circumstances? I don’t have witnesses, but the owner was there with a friend.
